School History

Belmont Public School is a fabulous school with a unique and interesting history dating back to 1874. The school in Livingstone Street was designed around the shape of a 50 cent piece and was the "Talk of the Town" in the mid 1960's because of this!

50 cent shape

In 1996 the school unfortunately burnt down. Many precious memoirs were lost. Staff and students found this time to be very difficult.

School Burning

However, since the fire, Belmont Public School has risen from the ashes to become even greater than it was before. The school is now fully equipped with purpose built stage based classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with an Interactive Whiteboard, multi-purpose wet areas, and many other modern facilities. The grounds are picturesque, designed to optimise learning and enjoyment at school. Future buildings will be erected during 2010 to house a computer lab and multi-purpose room.
