Jolly Phonics is the program used in Early Stage One to introduce children to single sounds and blends. The program is used to guide the children's learning in guided reading and writing groups. Please help your children to learn the symbols, actions and songs to further develop their learning in literacy.

Jolly Phonics is a thorough foundation for reading and writing. It teaches the letter sounds in an enjoyable, multisensory way, and enables children to use them to read and write words. The five basic skills for reading and writing are: 1. Learning the letter sounds 2. Learning letter formation 3. Blending 4. Identifying sounds in words 5. Spelling the tricky words
